1- With help from friends we have been able to build a “modern” kitchen with an energy saving stove. The energy saving stove has cut the use of wood for fuel to 1/5th.

2- With help from friends we have been able to purchase 60 t-shirts, 25 “bitenge” skirts and 25 pants, kangas, drums, xylophones, flutes, shakers, harps, etc. Our music, dance, and drama program is good to go!

3- Teachers quarters: Our teachers used to live far away from the school making it difficult for them to show up very early in the morning to and also stay late to offer remedial lessons to the children who need additional help. Through the generosity of friends we have been to build and provide some “studio” type of housing. The extended availability of teachers is a great help to the kids in and outside the classroom!

4- With efforts from the local community and friends, the school has been able to get it’s first permanent classroom block. The building which has four classrooms and one room subdivided into smaller office spaces for the school administrators is the pride of the school and our villages.
